Galvalume steel coil & sheet are steel sheets with an alloy coating that represents the optimal combination of aluminum and zinc in terms of composition and structure. The coating contains alloying elements such as aluminum, zinc, and silicon. This type of steel sheet features an aluminum-zinc alloy coating on the surface of the steel coil or sheet, and the zinc layer structure consists of a dense four-element crystal formed by aluminum, iron, silicon, and zinc. The composition of the coating, by mass, is 55% Al, 43.5% Zn, and 1.5% Si; by volume, it is 80% Al, 18.0% Zn, and 2.0% Si.
Its excellent surface properties include: zinc flowers that are smaller and more uniform than those on hot-dip galvanized steel sheets; a bright silver-gray color; high surface hardness that resists scratches (surface hardness ≥ 120 HV). Additionally, because the density of the Al-Zn alloy is much lower than that of zinc (coating density 3.75 g/m³), an Al-Zn-coated sheet covers an area more than 30% larger than a galvanized sheet of the same weight and zinc coating thickness.
Excellent Thermal Performance
(1) Good heat resistance: Ordinary hot-dip galvanized products typically have a maximum operating temperature of 230°C and will discolor at 250°C, but aluminum-zinc-coated steel sheets can be used for extended periods at temperatures up to 315°C.
(2) Good heat reflectivity: Its reflectivity coefficient is twice that of hot-dip galvanized steel sheets, which helps reduce indoor temperatures in summer and lower air conditioning energy consumption.

Good Paint Adhesion
When aluminum-zinc-coated sheets are painted for use as whiteboards or for other applications, they require only degreasing and do not need pretreatment or etching. This is because the coating and paint form a strong polar bond, whereas hot-dip galvanized coatings do not.
Relatively Lightweight
Because the coating on Galvalume steel sheets is lighter, the developed area per metric ton of steel is greater than that of galvanized steel sheets for the same coating thickness. Taking a 0.48 mm sheet with a 40 μm coating (on both sides) as an example, the weight per square meter and the developed area per metric ton of steel are as follows:
