GB/T 222-2025 “Steel and Alloys - Permissible Deviations in Chemical Composition of Finished Products” will take effect on December 1, 2025, replacing the previous standards GB/T 222-2006 and GB/T 25829-2010.
Key Content of the Standard
1. Scope: Covers permissible deviations in chemical composition for finished products (including billets) of non-alloy steel, low-alloy steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, heat-resistant steel, deformable corrosion-resistant alloys, and high-temperature alloys.
2. Major Technical Changes:
Added classification of permissible sulfur deviations for non-alloy steel and low-alloy steel.
Added classification of permissible deviations for sulfur, aluminum, nitrogen, and calcium in alloy steels.
Added permissible deviations for chemical composition in wrought corrosion-resistant alloys and high-temperature alloys.
3. Implementation Schedule
